God is active;
God’s power pulses through
an outstretched arm.
Things happen:
seas part,
slaves run free,
oppressors are overcome.
God is active;
God’s power pulses through
the outstretched arm
of one who said
he couldn’t serve God,
but found an eloquent tongue
wasn’t needed.
God is active;
God’s power pulses through.
The outstretched arm,
withered and lifeless,
squeezes out the truth
revealing those who only follow rules
that suit them.
God is active;
God’s power pulses through
the outstretched napping youth
with a message that makes ears tingle,
who finds a confident voice
to call out
what’s gone wrong.
God is active;
God’s power pulses through
our outstretched arms.
While afflicted we are not crushed.
God shines in our hearts
revealing the light of the knowledge
of the glory of God
in the face of Jesus Christ.
