Description

The Universe holds its breath – A Psalm (based on Romans 8.19)

The universe holds its breath,

waiting to see God’s new creation.

Distant galaxies,
known to us only as tiny specks of light and sound,
will burst into song when they see what God is doing.

The smallest elements of life,
known to us only by the images of microscopes,
will resonate with praise
at the sight of God’s new thing.

The universe holds its breath,

waiting to see God’s new creation.

The nightingale celebrates the end of day,
its riot of song banishing the shadows,
and waits for the dawning of the day which will never end.
