Jesus Heals Ten Lepers Assembly for KS1

Bible ref: Luke 17:11-19
This is excellent as the first assembly in January although can be used at any time of year to emphasise how we should be thankful for all we have.

Story
Our story today is about a group of people who wanted something very badly. How many are there? (Line the ten children up across the front and get everyone to join in counting them) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

They had a terrible disease called leprosy, so they were called lepers. Lepers were very poorly people with sore hands, feet and faces. No-one would go near them in case they caught leprosy, so they had to leave their homes and live by themselves, a long way away from everyone else. They didn’t get better very often, but if they thought they were better they had to go and see the priest...
