Thomas and Jesus (Short Sketch)
A week later the disciples were together again in the same room. This time Thomas was with them.
Jesus: Peace be with you.
Thomas: Lord! It’s you!
Peter: See!
Jesus: Thomas, come here. Look. See the gashes there – see the holes - look straight through if you want. See my side, come here, give me your hand, don’t be squeamish, put it inside.
Thomas: Lord, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean what I said…
Jesus: Yes you did, Thomas, it mattered to you. Well look, I’m here. See the scars where the crown of thorns sat. It’s really me. No ghost, no tricks. Now will you believe?
Thomas: Yes Lord. I’m sorry. You’re my Lord and my God.
Jesus: You have seen me Thomas, and now you believe. Well – happy are those who believe without ever seeing. And there will be many – a lot of them because of your testimony, Thomas. So take heart – and receive my spirit.
