This week’s Bible passages could all have been specially written for the difficult times in which we find ourselves now, with global financial disaster on the horizon. It seems that the monetary systems on which we have built our security for so long are seriously under threat; in fact they appear to have been founded on moonshine – faith in the value of things that have no intrinsic value at all. For far too long, we have been spending money that we actually do not have. Worse still, a tiny percentage of the world’s population owns the bulk of its wealth – a situation that God’s Law, given to Moses, specifically legislated against...
