Reflection: The Fear of the Lord
‘The beginning of wisdom is fear of the Lord?’
Doesn’t sound to me like the foundation for a good relationship.
Unless you’re getting ‘wised up’ to the fact that the Boss is in charge and you’d better
behave yourself, or else!
But that won’t make for all that love and compassion and forgiveness that believing in
God is supposed to be famous for, will it?
If everything is based on fear, then God’s just a big bully and who really loves
somebody like that?
Only the ones who have the same mentality and are fighting to be top dog.
Doesn’t sound much like the way I’d like to follow, if that’s the case.
