Reflection/poem: Psalm 29

Never did like thunder.
Someone told me
that thunderbolts could get in
through open windows,
so our windows were shut tight
during storms.
Someone else fed me horror stories
about lightning setting houses on fire
and the noise of thunder
causing heart attacks,
so I put my fingers firmly in my ears
as soon as a storm started.
