Reflection: Gathering

Jigsaw puzzles have an endless fascination about them.

First, opening the sealed box and scattering the pieces from the inner packet, so that they flow out in all directions. Some are upside down, some tantalisingly facing upwards with scraps of what will become the completed picture.

Next there is the sorting out of pieces. Some people pick out the edge pieces first and attempt to frame the picture. Others work on identifiable objects, or faces, or figures, or text and then build up the connections. Some do the plain colours first, as they are the most difficult. Others tackle the scene and leave the plain areas till last.
