Prayer: Forgiving God, we are your creation

Forgiving God,
we are your creation,
yet we are also creatures of this world
and we know how sometimes that can lead us away from you.

So often we are tempted to be selfish and self-centred.
So often we excuse ourselves from doing the right thing,
because we see how much easier it is to go along with everyone else.
So often we upset other people and become angry and aggressive when we don’t get all our own way.
