Prayers for Peace and Reconciliation
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
Lord we ask for the grace to be peacemakers.
We know it won’t be easy
because hurt runs deep and memories are long,
forgiveness is hard and costly,
but we long for the real peace which can only come when
understanding is based on your love and your truth.

Lord we ask that you will make us instruments of
righteousness. We know there can be no peace
while the poor cry out for justice,
and the voiceless are not heard;
while those entrusted with power
use it for personal gain
and not for the good of all.
We long for a just society
where all feel valued
and none are dismissed as worthless.
