Poem/Reflection: Call to preach
The call to preach is a demanding one
for it is not just a calling to the art of putting words together;
not just a gaining of confidence at speaking in public;
not just the ability to choose suitable material for the leading of worship;
not just a gift for using the right hymns and songs;
not just having the adaptability to cope with all ages of people;
not just looking right for the job,
but it is also living the words
and representing the God who calls us.
