It is high time that we return to an issue that has been lurking behind this book’s reflections now for some time. If the argument made so far is correct that Paul does not use the word ‘soul’ in the way that Plato did; that, in his writings, the word refers to the whole of life including the body; and that there is nothing to indicate that he ever used it to refer to what happens to us after we die, then this raises the question of what part of us, if any, Paul does think survives beyond the grave to be resurrected at the end times…
