Forgiveness – Seventy times Seven

Bible ref: Matthew 18:21-35
There’s quite a lot in this assembly so you will have to keep it moving or edit as you feel necessary...

Today we are going to be thinking about forgiveness. What does the word “forgive” mean? (Establish a child-friendly definition, for example, “To let someone off for doing something wrong”.)

If someone does something wrong to you, like, (give examples such as, they won’t let you join in a game; they say something unkind about you; they push you over.) If you don’t forgive them you will always be angry with them, so the opposite of forgiving someone is to always be angry. Does God forgive us when we do wrong things or is he always angry with someone who does something wrong? (Take some answers.) Yes, God does forgive us if we believe and trust in Jesus and we say that we are sorry for what we’ve done and really mean it...
