The Fourth Sunday of Epiphany

Luke 2.22-40


Gaze on a diamond just mined from deep underground, formed from elements from the beginning of time. It is dull until it’s been polished, and only the expert knows what is to be looked for. Another diamond is discovered in a river bed, exposed by torrents, appearing innocuously as an exceptionally hard, white pebble. But where the outer layer has rubbed thin, there is the promise of something miraculous. Once in the hands of the jeweller, it will be liberated to reveal its love affair with the light, able to play with the beams of the sun and set off a symphony of colour, flashing as if burning with fire...
