A story is told of John Wesley meeting a person who was begging. You might picture the scene but
dressed in today’s clothing. What do we do? Give a little of what we have and pass on by?
Perhaps talk for a moment? Go and get a drink for her? Some food for him?
John Wesley sat down and joined in the begging, didn’t move on, didn’t go away. He begged with
the man until together they had enough for the man’s needs and those of his family.
