Epiphany Box

An All Age Activity by Mike Claridge

A simple to make decorated box to enhance an All Age Epiphany Service.

Preparation
Print the attached sheets off. The activity can be used either in full colour or
simple black and white photocopy. If the latter the decorations can be
enhanced by the participants colouring them in.

Use card for best results and print/photocopy double sided. Each sheet is
marked with the word ‘TOP’ to ensure they are printed the right way round.
Check that the yellow panel containing the sentence from Matthew 5.16
corresponds with the inside of the lid.

Do a prototype to check all fits together and to give you a “here’s one I made
earlier” moment. There are simple instructions on the sheet itself.

The Box:

Three sides of the box have illustrations of the Gifts of the Magi; Gold,
Frankincense and Myrrh. The fourth side, the front, is left mostly blank for
participants to o?er what they would like to bring to God. This could be in
words or picture.

The inside of the box has the passage from Matthew 5.16:

“Let your light shine before others so that they may see your good
works and give glory to your Father in heaven”.
We bring our lives to God that his love may be seen in us. the box can be
used to store small tokens of how God’s love has been experienced in the
lives of participants.
