Dramatic Reading – John 8:31-38
It’s been a, different day, here in the temple courts. Jesus returned from The Mount of Olives where he’d been all night and sat down to teach us.
The Pharisees obviously weren’t too pleased and tried to trick him but Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.
I was too far back to see what he wrote but I heard him say “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone”
It was strange but everyone began to leave one at a time, the older ones first, then us younger people, such a powerful thing to say – you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone…
When I heard Jesus speak again, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” The Pharisees challenged him, but Jesus again replied with such confidence “I know where I came from and where I am going”.
