Another Joseph goes to Egypt
Matthew 2: 13-23


Joseph reeled in agony at the news. He had just heard that back home, many infant lives had been lost at the hands of Herod, who, frightened that a newborn baby would take his throne, had murdered all the boys under two years old, hoping to kill Jesus before he had chance to threaten. Joseph felt the pain of the dreadful loss of so many boys. He recalled the words of the prophet, ‘A cry of anguish is heard in Ramah, weeping and anguish unrestrained; Rachel weeps for her children’...
