Description

At this time of New Year, when we wish happiness to everyone we meet, the Psalmist helps
us to focus our minds on those who are in real need.

We think of those whose New Year is not a time for celebration.
We think of those who have not been able to afford to buy lavish gifts for their children, or anyone else, at a time when others were spending extravagantly and eating to excess.
We think of those who spend their time in isolation and will continue to do so.
We think of those who have no home to welcome them and no prospect of a bright future in the New Year.
We think of those who know that this year will bring pain and sorrow and those who dread what may happen to them, or those around them.
