(Lamentations 3: 25-26)

25 The LORD is good to those who depend on him,
      to those who search for him.
 26 So it is good to wait quietly
      for salvation from the LORD.

When all seems dark and we walk in gloom
We wait for your salvation

When life is chaotic and we are full of fear
We wait for your salvation

When we doubt the truth by which we seek to live
We wait for your salvation

When we ask, ‘Why do the wicked prosper?’
We wait for your salvation

When forgiveness is hard
We wait for your salvation

When we are tempted to live by sight and touch and taste and not by faith
We wait for your salvation

Lord our God
We find waiting so hard
Doubts so easily creep in
and threaten to overwhelm us

For the times when we are impatient
Lord have mercy
Lord have mercy
