Description

A strange kind of king - poem

Third Sunday after Pentecost
Zechariah 9: 9-12

When that king comes
riding on a donkey,
will he be noticed
among the finery
and glitz and glamour
of a ceremonial
state occasion?

When, through God’s peacemakers,
arms and armoury
are decommissioned
and weapons of mass destruction
are immobilised,
will anyone believe...

3 July 2011, Third Sunday after Pentecost, Zechariah 9: 9-12, poem, reflection,
King, God, donkey, peace, hope, equality, war, poverty, neglect
