Bonhoeffer’s letters to Ernst Cromwell were all written in German. Only the last of the 12, the letter from Finkenwalde of 27 March 1936, was typewritten. The handwritten letters were initially transcribed by Jelena Beljin, assisted by Ralf Wüstenberg, and then thoroughly
revised by Ilse Tödt, an expert in Bonhoeffer’s difficult handwriting…
